Cairn Terrier (Detailed Introduction)

　　The ideal male Cairn Terrier height should be between 28-31cm, and the ideal female height should be between 25-30cm. The ideal adult Cairn Terrier weight should be between 6-7.5kg. Any that do not fall within this range are considered faults.
　　Morphological Characteristics
　　The Cairn Terrier has a broad skull with a distinct brow angle connected to a strong muzzle. The ears are small and erect, spaced wide apart. Eyes are deep-set, widely spaced, and dark brown. There is a clearly visible indentation between the eyes. The nose is black. Teeth are large and should not show an overbite or underbite.
　　Small in size yet strong. Robust with a solid chest and a level back. The coat is adaptable to any climate, covered by soft undercoat, and the colors can be red, gray, cream, mustard, or nearly black. The muzzle and ear colors are darker. Legs are of medium length with sturdy bones, muscular thighs, straight limbs, with the front paws larger than the rear and slightly turned outward, toes fleshy on the back. The tail is proportionate to the head, has abundant hair but no furnishings. The tail is held cheerfully raised but should not curl over the back. The tail root is level with the back plane.
　　Gait: relaxed and effortless, requiring just slight traction without manipulation. Stands on tiptoes, showing the typical expression of terrier breeds.
