Basic Steps for Pet Hair Trimming and Nail Clipping
Trimming a dog's nails is generally not a big deal, but when dealing with dogs that have a bad temper or aggressive personality, most people find it hard to manage. Some owners often ask: “My dog keeps walking around and refuses to sit still; how can I trim its nails neatly?” To solve this problem, owners must start training their dogs from a young age. Otherwise, teaching an adult dog will inevitably take a longer time. The tools needed to trim and groom your beloved dog include: a cloth, scissors, fine-tooth comb, comb, ear powder, hemostatic forceps, clippers, nail clippers, and hemostatic powder, etc.
Bichon Frise (Detailed Introduction)
1. To prevent your dog from slipping and falling during grooming, first lay a cloth on the table before starting.
2. Before trimming hair, use a fine-tooth comb to comb the entire coat smoothly. Doing so makes trimming much easier and prevents hair tangling.
3. Don’t forget to comb the hair on both sides of the cheeks.
4. To trim the hair under the paws, gently hold your dog's paw, then use scissors to cut the longer hair. Do not apply too much force while trimming to avoid injuring the dog's limbs.
5. Overgrown nails can damage furniture and even hurt the owner, so they must be trimmed regularly. The method is to hold the dog’s paw with your left hand and use the nail clipper in your right hand to cut the nails that are too long.
6. Hair around the rear can interfere with the pet's elimination and must be trimmed regularly. Once you notice it has grown long, use scissors to cut the long hair vertically, trimming around half an inch of the surrounding hair. Use clippers to shave the hair around the anus to prevent feces from sticking to the fur.
7. You can manually pluck excess ear hair regularly, but first sprinkle ear powder inside the dog's ear to reduce pain and help the owner grip the hair better.
8. Use your left hand to fold back the dog's ear, and use hemostatic forceps to pull out the hair inside the ear canal in the opposite direction.
