【Test】A Small Test of Dogs' Sensory Reactions
Pug (Detailed Introduction)
If you want to choose a healthy dog without sensory defects, then you need to perform some selection tests when choosing a dog. The editor will introduce a few simple methods to test the dog's sensory reactions.
1. Test with Touch
Pinch the skin webbing between your dog's front toes with your hand, counting from one to ten aloud, while gradually increasing the force of your fingers; if the dog struggles violently at the start, it will likely be more sensitive to head collars, restraint, and training in the future.
2. Test with Hearing
Make a loud noise with a sound-producing device; after the sound, the dog will mostly panic. If there is no reaction, take it immediately to check whether it is deaf. If the dog quickly recovers and can locate the source of the sound, then it is an excellent dog.
3. Test with Vision
Use some cloth strips to wave in front of the dog. A confident dog will quietly investigate what the object is; a more aggressive one will try to bite through it; as for a more timid one, it will run to a corner to hide.
Small reminder: The last two tests assess the puppy's stability and energy levels, scoring based on its performance in the above tests.
