　　 The Neapolitan Mastiff belongs to the large mastiff category and is not suitable for city living; it is best to reside in the suburbs where spacious exercise and leisure activities are very important to it. This dog tends to move with a large sway and a clumsy characteristic, and is neither elegant nor flashy.
　　 This dog is confident, naturally gentle, and strong. It has a noble temperament and is very docile. Steady and loyal, it will not attack or bite without reason. It can protect its owner and their property, while remaining constantly vigilant. When provoked, it is very formidable; therefore, continuous training from a young age is necessary.
　　 The Neapolitan Mastiff is stable and alert, disliking strangers intruding on its territory. Its attitude is calm yet watchful. In shows, it must appear solemn and powerful without being ostentatious.
