What to Do About German Shepherd Bad Breath?
German Shepherd

Although German Shepherds are very suitable for keeping, owners often encounter many problems in daily life, such as bad breath in German Shepherds, which is a common issue for owners.

What should you do about German Shepherd bad breath? It is often caused by multiple factors. Daily dietary habits also affect the teeth. Overall, dry dog food is better than wet dog food (canned food). Wet food easily causes tartar buildup on teeth, while dry food is harder and crisper. When dogs chew dry food, they can scrape their teeth clean to some extent. With proper daily care, dog owners should also take their pets to the veterinarian for professional dental cleaning once or twice a year. You can also give them some dog-specific chewing gum regularly.

Many dogs generally dislike brushing their teeth, so it’s best to start gently wiping their teeth with a small gauze cloth when they are a few months old, helping them gradually get used to it. Later, you can switch to using a small toothbrush designed for dogs. Human toothpaste should not be used for dogs because it foams, and dogs cannot spit out the foam as humans do. If swallowed, it may cause stomach discomfort. You should purchase dog-specific toothpaste, which comes in different flavors that puppies usually like.

Editor Boqi recommends the American AFP dog peanut-flavored toothpaste palm brush, which effectively prevents tartar buildup, maintains oral hygiene, keeps German Shepherds' breath fresh, and relieves owners' worries.
