Is the Weimaraner a Fierce Dog? How Should We Train It
The Weimaraner, also called the Weimaraner hound, is a gray medium-sized dog. Their appearance looks very noble and elegant, very beautiful. They have a very brisk speed, graceful movements, and strong perseverance. Their body is well-proportioned and their actions are agile. From their body structure, they can quickly complete tasks for a long time, which indicates their excellent endurance. So is this dog actually a fierce dog? How should we train it?
First of all, before figuring out if the Weimaraner is a fierce dog, we need to understand what a fierce dog is. A fierce dog refers to a breed with a bad temper and strong aggression. The Weimaraner has well-developed muscles and agile movements, looking very fierce. Its aggression is also particularly strong, which can threaten others' safety. From this perspective, the Weimaraner is indeed a fierce dog. So how should we train it?
Firstly, in cases where the dog attacks others, it must be stopped immediately and strictly scolded. Although it is a medium-sized dog, its teeth are very sharp, which is a threat. To break this bad habit, we can lift its chin with our hand to warn it, or strike the ground with an object to produce sound to scare it. If after scolding it can quickly calm down, it can be suitably rewarded.
If the dog likes to attack strangers, you can have your friends help to eliminate the dog’s fear of strangers. We can have friends feed the dog, and also let the dog see that the food is given to the friend by you. This way, it will think you are trustworthy. If the dog eats the food given by friends, both people should praise it simultaneously, so it will gradually get used to contact with strangers.
Lastly, the most important thing is to have patience with your dog. When you think it did something wrong, try to think about what it did right that day. Also, do not change your attitude towards the dog too quickly; don’t hug it when happy and then throw it aside when unhappy.
