How to Treat Dog Holiday Indigestion
Belgian Malinois
Whether for us or dogs, the holidays always feel like a food festival. We buy all kinds of dishes and snacks to reward ourselves. Because the food is so rich and we often like to share it with our dogs, it can often cause indigestion in dogs. Therefore, let's talk about how to treat dog holiday indigestion.
1. First, fasting for one day is necessary. After one day, you can give soup, porridge, and other easily digestible liquid foods.
2. Give dogs some stomach-strengthening and digestion-aiding medicines, such as lactobacillus, gastric enzyme preparations, and Mu Sheng. If the dog has diarrhea or watery stools mixed with mucus and blood, you can administer gentamicin and berberine.
3. Severely dehydrated dogs can be given glucose saline, physiological saline, or compound sodium chloride intravenously. Owners need to take extra care, and the dog can recover within 2 to 3 days!
We can appropriately give some delicious food to dogs, but not too much. After all, it is still our dogs who will feel uncomfortable. So for the physical and mental health of our dogs, we should moderate their food intake. Even during holidays, feeding dogs should be on schedule and in portion to avoid disrupting their previous feeding habits, which can easily cause gastrointestinal discomfort.
