　　Breed Standard

　　Head: Large, heavy, not arched, apple-shaped head, forehead not receding.

　　Eye color very dark, very large, prominent and striking. Spherical, eyes full of serenity and longing. Very bright, excited, full of enthusiasm.

　　Ears thin, small, soft, like black velvet. Two ear shapes: rose ear or button ear. The latter is more desirable. Wrinkles large and deep.

　　Muzzle short, blunt, wide, but not upturned. Bite should be a slight underbite. From the side, it forms a parallel line with the nose and forehead.

　　Body

　　Neck slightly arched, sturdy, long enough to hold the head proudly up. Back short, topline horizontal. Body short and fat, chest wide and ribs well sprung. Height and body length roughly form a square from the side. Tail curled tightly over the upper hip area, single or multiple curls, figure-eight curl preferred.

　　Limbs

　　Forelegs very sturdy, straight, moderate length, positioned under the body. From the side, elbows sit directly under the shoulders. Wrists firm, neither over nor downturned. Paws not long like hare feet nor round like cat feet. Toes moderately spread, black nails. Dewclaws usually removed.

　　Hindquarters sturdy, powerful, moderate angle at stifle, hocks vertical to the ground. From behind, legs parallel. Hindquarters balanced with forequarters. Thighs and hips full and muscular. Paws same as forelimbs.

　　Coat

　　Coat attractive, smooth, soft, short, and shiny, neither harsh nor wool-like, very pleasant to touch. Colors are silver, apricot, or black. Silver or apricot should be clear with strong contrast to other color markings and face color. Markings well defined. Muzzle or face color, ears, ear edges, thumb mark, diamond mark on forelimbs, and back markings may be black. Face color should be white and black.

　　Tail

　　Tail set high, tightly curled on the back, double curls preferred.

　　Feet

　　Not round like cat feet but slightly oval like hare feet. Toes fairly spread, claws black.
