How to change dog food for dogs? Many friends buy new dog food and give it directly to their dogs, which is not correct.

When changing dog food, do not replace the entire amount with new food at once: the old and new dog food should be mixed and transitioned gradually by proportion. This is the correct way.

The specific procedure is: for example, on the first day add 10% new dog food, on the second day 20%, on the third day replace 30%... gradually increase the amount of new dog food while decreasing the old dog food. It usually takes about 7-10 days to fully switch over. This allows the dog's digestive system to adapt; otherwise, diarrhea can easily occur.

Additionally, when changing dog food, observe the dog's stool! For example, feeding a puppy three times a day should result in 3-4 bowel movements, with stool of moderate softness and firmness, indicating appropriate feeding. If the stool is too soft, partially unformed, and the dog defecates more frequently, it means overfeeding and the amount should be appropriately reduced.
