Putting aside the somewhat silly temperament of the Husky (detailed introduction), its appearance is actually quite handsome, one could say it is a “handsome young man.” Huskies love to play and fool around, so they will definitely get dirty. Therefore, as owners, we must help them groom regularly so they can go out looking beautiful and gain more people's love. Now let’s follow the Pets Zone editor to see which aspects need cleaning.

Husky grooming cleaning methods
Husky (detailed introduction)

  Teeth

Huskies can also have dental problems, so as a dog owner, you must brush your dog's teeth daily to prevent plaque, tartar, and periodontal disease. You can buy dog-specific toothbrushes and toothpaste at pet stores or veterinary clinics; soft-bristled toothbrushes for young children are also acceptable, but never use human toothpaste for your dog as it can cause digestive discomfort. Follow the toothpaste label instructions and use an appropriate amount, making sure to brush every tooth surface. At first, your dog may run around to avoid brushing, so be patient and help him get accustomed. If the Husky absolutely refuses to brush, you can use a soft cloth or sterile gauze pad to wipe the teeth clean. Alternatively, add some coarse or crunchy food (such as grains and fiber-rich vegetables and fruits) to the dog food, as chewing these helps scrape the tooth surface and aids in oral cleanliness.

  Eyes

Frequently check your dog's eyes for abnormalities: excessive tearing, overly red eyeballs, or the appearance of a “third eyelid” (which indicates eyelid swelling) are signs of problems and require immediate veterinary diagnosis and treatment. When cleaning a Husky’s eyes, use a moistened cotton ball or tissue to gently wipe around the eyes; avoid using fingers or cotton swabs or other hard objects as they can injure the eyes.

  Ears

Inspect your dog’s ears weekly to check for inflammation or redness; smell for any unusual odors; feel if your dog reacts to pain. If everything is normal, just clean with a dry cotton ball. For earwax, you can dab a little glycerin on a cotton swab and carefully clean, or use cleaning products recommended by your veterinarian.

  Rear Area

Though a bit unpleasant, it’s best to regularly check your dog’s rear area for anal fissures or inflammation, and see if feces are stuck around the anus causing a mess. If your dog refuses to defecate due to pain or inflammation, the anus area likely has a problem. Do not attempt to manually open the dog’s anus to help; seek the vet’s assistance.

The Husky does not realize how important it is to have a handsome face in this “appearance-focused world,” so it may resist some cleaning tasks. We should remain patient and try to soothe it. If you do an excellent job cleaning, appropriate food rewards can be given. Maintaining the image of this “handsome young man” Husky requires the effort of all owners!
