Dogs All Need Daily Exercise

Whether large or small breeds, dogs all require a certain amount of physical activity, and the exercise needs vary by breed and age. Owners need to carefully arrange appropriate levels of exercise for their dogs. Without regular exercise, dogs commonly develop obesity, and trying to lose weight after obesity sets in can cause physical discomfort for them.
Puppies are lively and active and generally do not need extra exercise, but as dogs grow older, they need to be taken out for walks frequently. Dogs should not be taken outdoors before vaccinations and veterinarian approval. If the dog is still growing, avoid overloading them with exercise because their bones are not yet strong enough to handle excessive physical stress. Before full maturity, frequent moderate exercise is recommended, and large breeds mature later than small breeds. You can consult your veterinarian regarding this.
Walking not only keeps dogs healthy but also exposes them to new experiences, including meeting other dogs. This helps them grow into happy dogs well adapted to their surroundings and prevents behavioral problems. Exercise should be supervised and dogs should not be allowed to roam freely. Also, do not leave dogs outside on their own during the day to fend for themselves.
Consistent daily walking or running helps keep your dog (and maybe you) in good shape and avoid obesity. Medical and veterinary experts note that most owners of obese dogs are overweight themselves.
