Can you bring baijiu on the high-speed train
Yes, but it must not exceed the regulated adult 20KG, child 10KG, diplomatic personnel 35KG limits, and it must be sealed bottled baijiu.
2016 high-speed train alcohol regulations:
Bulk baijiu is not allowed on the high-speed train, but sealed bottled baijiu can be brought on board, although the quantity is limited to no more than one box (6 bottles). If the amount exceeds the limit, you can choose to check it in.
Limits for different types of alcohol:
1. The railway only restricts alcohol content, there are no restrictions on bulk baijiu. No restrictions mean it can be carried freely, but must not exceed 10 kilograms.
2. Alcohol under 100ml is usually limited to two bottles, each about 500ML.
Beer is unlimited, and red wine and huangjiu are less restricted. Baijiu can generally be carried up to 2 kilograms.
3. Baijiu must be in its original packaging for personal use. Bulk baijiu stored in plastic oil cans or beverage bottles is easily compressed and flammable. Security police will confiscate such items as flammable and explosive goods.
4. Bulk baijiu cannot be brought on the train, but sealed bottled baijiu can be brought on board, though the quantity must not exceed one box (6 bottles); if the total weight of carried items (including baijiu) exceeds the railway limits (adult 20KG, child 10KG, diplomatic personnel 35KG), excess weight fees will be charged. When exceeding the limit for baijiu on the train, checked baggage is an option.
