Do you know these three points about feeding dogs in summer?
What to pay attention to when raising dogs in summer

The hot summer has arrived, and dogs' diets, like ours, need attention to quality and freshness. For owners, the amount of food given should be controlled. Also, gastrointestinal diseases are common in dogs during summer, so owners should not choose food blindly. To be specific, owners should pay attention to the following three points!

1. Avoid giving dogs milk

Stop giving dogs milk; drinking clean water is better because water transports essential substances within pets and eliminates unnecessary metabolic waste. By unconscious evaporation and sweat secretion, dogs release a large amount of heat to regulate body temperature. In summer, dogs, like humans, lose a lot of water, so timely water supplementation is important. Ensure that the dog's bowl always contains clean and sufficient drinking water. It is worth noting that beverages like tea and juice do not have any extra benefits for dogs. Milk may cause skin problems in some sensitive dogs, and alcoholic drinks such as beer should be absolutely forbidden, as their stomachs cannot tolerate alcohol. Therefore, the best drink for dogs is clean water.

2. Eat less meat

High summer temperatures can cause reduced appetite. In summer, you can appropriately reduce meat intake. A warm reminder: you can add some vegetables or slightly change the type of dog food. However, it is still necessary to give dogs plenty of water.

3. Frequently change fresh and clean water

When your dog enjoys the summer outdoors, be sure to provide enough drinking water and shady spots. Just like people, they need to drink plenty of water in summer. Also, owners should try to change the water frequently.

How to help dogs cool down?

Herbal teas such as mulberry chrysanthemum, isatis root granules, wax gourd water, chrysanthemum water, etc., can be given to pets in moderation. Especially honeysuckle granules, which dogs particularly love to drink. It not only helps prevent kidney stones in dogs but also cools them down. However, it should be noted that although pets can eat some cooling foods in summer, it should not be excessive, and puppies especially should not eat ice cream. When going out in summer, be sure to prepare enough water for your pets.
