Their cute appearance hides their pain; how many people really understand that?

The peculiarity of folded ear cats is caused by a congenital hereditary bone disease, technically known as: cartilage ossification developmental abnormality. Whether it's folded ears or straight ears, as long as the cat carries the folded ear gene, its bones will not be 100% normal; only the severity differs. This is a typical genetic disease of the folded ear cat breed—starting with bone hyperplasia, then bone spurs, and ultimately paralysis. The onset usually happens between two to six months of age, but some show symptoms after one year old.

Especially now, cat dealers in the market, to increase sales, baselessly claim that “mating folded ear cats with straight ear cats produces no genetic diseases,” which is a complete lie! This disease is congenital and the difference is only in the onset age and severity. Moreover, this disease cannot be cured, and the condition mostly worsens progressively. It cannot be healed! It will accompany the folded ear cat until it dies.

Currently, the only way to prevent this genetic disease from continuing!! Is to stop breeding folded ear cats entirely!

Never think the thick and cute paw pads of folded ear cats are normal! They are caused by their abnormal bones!
