Cultivating Good Eating Habits for Pet Cats
Native Cat
Your little greedy does nothing but sleep and eat all day. When you see its greedy expression and all sorts of flattering behaviors, do you suddenly lose control and satisfy its unreasonable demands? Let's look at today’s care issues for greedy cats and parents’ cat-raising experiences; hopefully, it will be helpful to you.
1. Feeding Methods.
From about 3-4 weeks to 2.5 months old, feed 4–5 times daily. Dry cat food can be mixed with hot boiled water and cat milk before feeding. Give a small amount just after weaning and increase the frequency. Some cats get diarrhea from cow’s milk, so use milk specially made for cats.
From 2.5 months to 6 months old, feed 3 times daily. Provide dry cat food directly, and always place fresh water nearby for drinking. From 6 months to adult cats, feed twice daily.
2. Feeding Time.
Feed at fixed times and places regularly and correctly so the cat develops good habits. Do not allow the cat to eat food anytime because this will overburden its digestive system. Feed it in a quiet place away from the litter box; otherwise, the cat might refuse to eat. Leave food out for a period (15 to 30 minutes) and then remove the bowl until the next feeding time.
3. Feeding Amount.
The initial amount given should be about the size of the cat’s head. Afterwards, adjust the amount according to the cat’s life stage.
