What Causes Blood in Cat Stool

Blood in cat stool is a condition that leaves many pet owners bewildered and worried, so today Pet Dog Network’s editor will discuss the factors causing diarrhea and blood in cat stool, and what to do!

When a kitten has diarrhea, first check if there has been any change in their food. Changing feed often easily causes gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhea. If not this situation, then let’s continue to look further.....

If the kitten has diarrhea a few times a day, and the symptoms are still mild, stop feeding canned food and observe. If it occurs more than twice, it is recommended to let the kitten’s stomach rest, that is fasting usually for 12 to 24 hours depending on the condition. Fasting doesn’t mean no water!! If the kitten only has mild stomach discomfort or ate something bad, usually such treatment suffices!! After fasting, when resuming food, remember to give the original food without changing the brand or type, and feed small amounts multiple times a day. Usually it is recommended to start with dry food, then give canned food when the situation improves!
