Six Principles of Training Cats

Scottish Fold Cat
In the past, people liked to use punishment as a way of education. This method was based on dogs or children fearing punishment and being afraid of losing love. It was effective because the fear of punishment far outweighed the unwillingness to obey or submit. Fortunately, this educational method is now outdated. Experiments have shown that animals, like humans, are more willing to learn new things and learn faster when good behavior is praised. Moreover, undesirable situations should be prevented from the start. This educational method is called positive reinforcement training. Especially in cat training, this is a good choice because punishment training has no effect on cats. Cats resist force but do not reject adapting to the environment. One must always let the cat understand that people generally mean no harm to it.
