How to Train Folded Ear Cats Not to Bite People
Many friends report that when their household Folded Ear Cat is almost 2 months old, it grabs and bites people when held, especially male cats, biting nonstop every moment they see a person. Why exactly? It's actually hard to say clearly, but kittens generally like playing hunting, grabbing, and jumping games during development. If the Folded Ear Cat has no other prey to play with, it will just play with you!
The solution is to buy some toys for the Folded Ear Cat, such as scratching carpet sets, hanging small balls, moving toy mice, etc., so the cat plays with toys until tired and naturally has no energy to scratch you. Additionally, clipping the cat's nails helps avoid scratching or injuring people.
Other methods like pretending to be in pain also work. When the Folded Ear Cat scratches you, shout loudly in pain, then ignore it and don’t play with it. Most Folded Ear Cats dislike hurting their owners, so noticing the owner’s unhappiness will make them careful and avoid biting you painfully. Or simply ignoring it lets the cat realize it played too wildly and the owner is unhappy.
Alternatively, a harsher method is using a spray. When the Folded Ear Cat tries to pounce and bite, use a prepared water gun or spray bottle to spray it with water. After a few times, the cat will no longer dare to pounce and bite you.
