Cats Suitable for Elderly to Raise: Folded Ear Cat
The Scottish Fold cat is increasingly loved, with its uniquely downward folded ears, round face, and round eyes, resembling a cute character jumping out of a comic, capturing countless hearts. The reason for the kitten’s folded ears is a dominant genetic gene, with about a 30% probability, gradually folding downward starting around the third week after birth.
However, the folded ears do not always maintain this shape; sometimes due to climate, sexual maturity, endocrine disorders, illness, or stress, the ears may return to their original upright position. There is no need to worry much, as once the kitten is confirmed to have the folded ear appearance after three months old, the upright ear situation is temporary. Besides the folded ears and emphasized round face, their body shape is plump and cute, belonging to a semi-cobby type, with sturdy limbs; their thick tail is also impressive.
Coat
The colored areas of the coat do not connect, and there should be no white hairs within the colored areas. The unique medium-long coat does not lie flat against the body.
Temperament
The Folded Ear cat is intelligent and easy to raise, gentle in nature, and easy to get close to people. It often lives harmoniously with other pets including dogs. It enjoys play and can bring endless joy to its owner.
Care Tips for Elderly
The Folded Ear cat requires very little. A clean living environment, proper nutrition, and enough love are all it needs.
