Russian Blue cats love cleanliness. Letting them urinate and defecate in a fixed litter box is easy to do; the litter box must be cleaned frequently, and the bedding needs to be replaced regularly. Even so, the smell of cat feces is strong and unpleasant. Some people ask, since some house cats urinate and defecate in the flush toilet, which is enviable, how can they be trained?

　　Before training, place a plastic board (or a wooden board as a substitute) under the toilet seat ring, then cover the plastic or wooden board with an appropriate amount of sand, ashes, sawdust, or other bedding. When you notice the Russian Blue cat about to relieve itself, immediately take it to the flush toilet. Before long, it will relieve itself by itself. After several patient training sessions, the Russian Blue cat will gradually develop the habit of urinating and defecating on the flush toilet with bedding; then gradually reduce the bedding on the plastic or wooden board.

　　During this process, the Russian Blue cat quickly learns that it should stand on the toilet seat ring to relieve itself, not on the lower layer of bedding inside the toilet. Then gradually remove all the bedding and drill a hole in the plastic board to allow urine to pass through.

　　If the bedding is removed too early and the Russian Blue cat refuses to use the toilet seat ring to relieve itself, training must be restarted. In short, the plastic or wooden board can only be removed after the cat has developed the habit of using the toilet seat ring.

　　Several details should be noted during training. First, change soiled bedding daily and always keep the flush toilet clean, which speeds up the training process.

　　Second, during training, do not use the flush toilet yourself, especially do not disturb or hinder the cat while it is using the toilet.

　　Third, some Russian Blue cats may accidentally slip inside the flush toilet. Such cats generally will not use the toilet again. In this case, the owner must restart the training from the beginning until the Russian Blue cat learns to use the flush toilet properly.
