Cultivating Good Eating Habits for Cats
Shandong Lion Cat
Feeding pets properly is the most basic part of their care, and good eating habits are very beneficial to their health. So for the sake of the cat's physical health, we should cultivate good eating habits in cats. What are the specific training methods? We will explain below.
1. Feeding method: From 3-4 weeks after birth to 2.5 months, feed 4-5 times daily. Dry cat food can be prepared with hot boiled water and cat milk before feeding to the cat, given in small amounts just after weaning and increasing the number of feedings. Some cats get diarrhea from cow’s milk, so cat-specific milk should be used.
From 2.5 months to 6 months, feed 3 times daily. Give dry cat food directly, and always provide fresh water nearby for drinking. From 6 months after birth to adulthood, feed twice daily.
2. Feeding time: Feed at fixed times and places regularly and properly to help cats develop good habits. Do not let cats eat whenever they want, as this can overburden their digestive system. Feed in a quiet place away from the litter box, or your cat may refuse to eat. Leave the food for a certain time (15 to 30 minutes), then remove the bowl until the next feeding time.
3. Feeding amount: The amount must be controlled and can be adjusted according to the cat’s individual situation.
Diet is the foundation of raising cats. We should not make mistakes here that harm the cat’s health. Therefore, we must pay close attention to diet regularly and cultivate good eating habits for the cat. (Source:PetsZone)
