Correct Training for Pet Cats After They Make Mistakes
Norwegian Forest Cat
To ensure that both people and can live comfortably, it is necessary to have cats obey the household rules. If you master the following four points, then training cats can proceed smoothly.
The first point is immediate on-the-spot criticism. When they do something wrong, you should immediately scold them loudly with "No!" or "Hey!" Of course, cats do not stop because they understand human language, but simply because they are startled by the loud sound. If this is done repeatedly, cats will gradually realize that if they do this, they will be loudly scolded and it’s a hassle, so they will stop doing it.
Taking a cat back to the scene after it has done something wrong to lecture it is completely useless. Cats are forgetful animals, and even if they are scolded for what they just did, they will not understand why.
The second point is patient education. It doesn't mean that after criticizing today it will be allowed tomorrow; instead, you should always patiently criticize with the same attitude at all times. If the person gives up halfway, then the previous effort will be wasted. "Anyway, it will forgive me soon." In this way, the cat will become complacent.
The third point is never to use corporal punishment. If you hit the cat casually, it will develop fear towards the owner and in turn develop an inferior personality. Because cats’ bodies are much smaller than humans, they are very likely to be injured if hit.
The fourth point is to give big praise on the spot when it behaves well. Although cats cannot understand the owner’s words, they clearly distinguish between scolding sounds and praising sounds. When praised, the cat’s mood improves, which gradually enhances the effectiveness of training.
