What Are the Types of Feline Stomatitis?
Canadian Hairless Cat
【Causes and Symptoms】
This disease is commonly caused by immunosuppression due to infectious diseases and stomatitis. In addition, bacteria, fungi, plaque attachment, and vitamin deficiency can also cause this disease. During onset, symptoms such as bad breath, drooling, and apparent pain while eating may appear. If you open the mouth and find ulcerated gums, swelling, and bleeding, it may be stomatitis.
【Treatment and Care】
Clean the oral cavity, control bacterial growth with antibiotics, and use medication to suppress inflammation progression. Avoid large and hard foods that stimulate the oral mucosa in the diet; soft and small foods are preferable. Brushing the cat’s teeth daily and regularly cleaning plaque can also help prevent it.
