Five Things to Know Before Your Cat Boards a Plane

If your cat displays aggressive behavior, you might want to refer to these tips:

  1. If it is a lonely old cat, consider adding a kitten as a companion. Because the old and young are more easily accepting of each other, but be sure the kitten is brought home by someone the old cat absolutely does not know. This person's presence hopes that the old cat will not associate you with the kitten and develop jealousy.

  2. If the old cat shows hostility towards the kitten, try calling the kitten "the old cat's kitten," as this can create a positive connection between them. Also, when talking to the kitten, simultaneously talk to the old cat to engage it and encourage normal contact with the kitten, thereby fostering their relationship.

  3. If the cat gets particularly nervous around someone, try referring to that person as the cat’s person, such as "This is Lily’s cat, and Lily is the cat’s person." This creates a link between them. This can dispel the cat's tension and anxiety about the person, but it requires repeated practice.

  4. Cats are very sensitive to their owner's emotions, so as an owner, you should do more stress-reducing exercises and activities to relax both yourself and your cat.

  5. Some owners go to veterinary clinics to use sedatives to control their cat’s emotions, but if only sedatives are tried, this is just a temporary measure; for effectiveness, you must rebuild the cat's behavior and supplement with sedatives to help the cat reduce triggers for aggression.

  6. Music also has a relaxing effect on cats and can reduce their aggressive behavior. So, you can play your music accompanied by gentle background music which also helps soothe the cat.

  7. When cats feel nervous, they naturally attack their enemies with their claws, so you should regularly trim your cat’s nails. When trimming, it’s best if another person holds the cat to distract its attention.

In summary, most of a cat's aggressive behavior is triggered by emotional stimulation, so owners should avoid anything that might affect the cat's emotions.(Source:PetsZone)
