Some owners have analyzed that the sources of a dog's head odor mainly include the ears, eyes, and mouth.

Ears: A dog's ear canal is a very hidden space, especially for floppy-eared dogs, whose ear canals are also filled with hair. If not cleaned regularly, earwax can accumulate easily, which in severe cases can lead to ear mites and bacteria. Note that this is also the root cause of various ear inflammations. Once the condition worsens, the dog's ears may discharge pus and emit an unpleasant odor.

Eyes: Strictly speaking, this is a part less likely to cause odor. As the saying goes, "The eyes are the window to the soul," which also applies to pet dogs. Dogs’ eyes also require regular care and cleaning, especially for those that tend to tear up or have protruding eyes, which can easily accumulate dust and cause eye inflammation. Once the eyes become diseased, they can also emit an unpleasant smell.

Mouth: This is one of the main sources of a dog's head odor. Every dog has a mouth and needs to eat every day. However, if you do not brush your dog's teeth regularly, food residue will ferment and breed bacteria in the dog's mouth, causing tartar and plaque. In severe cases, it may lead to gingivitis and periodontitis, which also emit a foul breath.
