Precautions When Feeding Puppy Milk Powder

Do not use water that is too hot to prepare the milk powder
Although not all dogs get diarrhea after drinking milk powder intended for humans, to avoid discomfort especially for puppies, it is best to prepare a dedicated puppy milk powder. Attention should also be paid to related issues when feeding.
Generally, it is better not to change milk powder easily. On one hand, because puppies do not drink milk powder for a very long time, buying too much can be wasteful. On the other hand, sudden changes may cause intestinal discomfort for puppies who have just adapted. Use warm water to prepare the milk powder; do not use water that is too hot to avoid nutrient loss.
Another point to note is that milk powder is only a supplement and cannot be used as the main food. Feeding only milk powder cannot meet the puppy's nutritional requirements. Puppies initially only feed on milk powder because their development is not yet complete and they cannot digest harder foods. However, as puppies grow older and their digestive systems improve, other foods besides milk powder can be gradually introduced. At first, to help puppies adapt, it is best to feed softer textured food, which is why softening dry dog food initially is recommended.
When first feeding milk powder, it can be given about three times a day, then gradually reduce this while increasing other foods so the puppy has a process of adaptation. In short, food changes should not be too fast to avoid intestinal discomfort, otherwise puppies are more vulnerable to viral infections.
