       Dogs are social animals, so they have their own society. Generally, for common interests and goals, they form groups, within which dogs interact to ensure the proper development of the group. Dogs’ group behaviors mainly include three types: grouping behavior, dominance hierarchy, and fighting behavior.

       Before dogs were domesticated by humans, they relied on their abilities to obtain food and compete for mates. However, because there are many animals fiercer than dogs in nature, dogs chose to live in groups. Grouping behavior not only improves the quality of life for dogs but also maximizes the safety of each member.

       After dogs form a fixed group, they select a respected and powerful leader to be the "head". The dominance hierarchy is established through fighting; the victorious side naturally holds a higher status, while the defeated side must submit to the winner. The leader dog leads the entire group in hunting, fending off enemies, and defending territory. If one day the leader can no longer fulfill this role, it will be replaced by a more capable dog.

       Sometimes, the group leader also has to manage fights among dogs within the group, such as intimidation and attacks that arise from competition for food. For the group, instability of an individual causes panic, but fights between dogs are generally not very intense. The lower-ranked side quickly submits to the higher-ranked one. If neither side yields and both insist on their position, the leader must intervene to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
