How to Train Your Teddy to Be Obedient

For training your teddy dog to obey, it is recommended to use certain techniques and methods. You should not force the teddy dog to comply, as this might hurt the dog and cause fear, which could lead to problems later on!

Method 1: I Sit While You Stand, I Eat While You Watch

As mentioned earlier, the clearest expression of hierarchy in wolf packs is the order of eating, which dogs have retained. Therefore, during mealtime, you can prepare their food and place it in front of them, but do not allow them to eat first. If you cannot control your dog well, put them in a cage or use a leash, then place the food where they can see it but cannot reach it.

At this time, you can eat your meal in front of them. No matter how they protest, you must ignore them and never give in. After you finish eating, then let them eat. This way, they will understand that the first to eat is the leader.

Method 2: Conquer You with My Gaze

If you are sure the dog will not attack you, you can have it lie on its back with its legs up, then place your hand on its chest to hold it down, and stare at it with a serious look. At this moment, your dog will submit to you; usually, the ears will go back, the tail will tuck, and it will avoid your serious gaze, not daring to look you in the eyes.

If this happens, you have succeeded. There is no need to continue threatening, but you should release it and use gentle eyes, words, and petting to reward it, so your dog understands that obedience brings rewards from the owner.

Method 3: If You Don’t Obey, I Will Ignore You

When your dog refuses to accept you or shows aggression, the best approach is still not force, but to ignore it. What dogs cannot tolerate most is not being forced, but being ignored. When your dog’s behavior is unacceptable and you need to punish it, you can use this method.

Specifically, restrict it to a separate space, do not look at it, do not think about it, and pretend it doesn’t exist. For a dog, this is a punishment even harder to bear than violence. (Source: PetsZone)
