How to Help Pets Clean Ticks on Their Body
Samoyed Dog (Detailed Introduction)

Dogs inevitably have parasites on their bodies. Dogs that stay in the wild or are often taken for walks in grassy areas are more likely to get ticks. So when we find ticks on our dogs, how should we handle it?
Actions and treatment after discovering ticks:
Step One: Use small tweezers to avoid the body of the tick and grasp the leg area of the tick.
Step Two: Gently test if you can remove the tick by pinching it; if it feels difficult, do not force it.
Step Three: You can first drop some vegetable oil on the tick’s body, wait for the tick to suffocate and die, then remove it. Or under veterinarian operation, apply local anesthetic to the tick, and after the anesthetic takes effect, remove it.
Step Four: After removal, if the bite area is red or inflamed, you can externally apply lincomycin-lidocaine gel, commonly known as green ointment, which has pain relief, anti-itch, and anti-inflammatory effects.
If there are many ticks on the dog’s body, it is necessary to go to a pet hospital for veterinarian treatment, using 0.04%~0.08% amitraz solution for wiping or medicated bath, combined with subcutaneous injection of ivermectin drugs.
When the dog shows unsteady walking, immediately send it to the pet hospital for symptomatic treatment and emergency care. Infuse 10% calcium gluconate and 10% glucose mixed solution, combined with injections of strong detoxifying agents, vitamin B1, and vitamin B12 to promote function recovery.
Finally: Blood tests are also needed to check for other protozoa or pathogens. After treatment, regular deworming is very necessary, and thoroughly disinfect the places where your dogs usually stay.
