Chow Chow (Detailed Introduction)
Brushing the Fur
The Chow Chow is covered with fluffy and dense fur; the fur is like its clothing. Whether the Chow Chow looks spirited and handsome depends on the grooming of its coat. Therefore, regular brushing to keep the coat shiny and glossy is very necessary.
First, prepare two combs: one with fine teeth and one with wide teeth. The Chow Chow’s fur needs to be brushed daily to prevent matting.
Then, use the fine-toothed comb first to comb through the entire coat, removing some dirt from the fur, then use the wide-toothed comb to smooth the whole fur.
Finally, you can spray some flea repellent on the fur surface to keep the Chow Chow away from flea harm and always healthy.
Bathing
In summer, the Chow Chow should be bathed more frequently, generally once every 1-2 weeks. During spring and autumn, bathing can be done once every 15-30 days, and in winter, the bathing frequency can be extended accordingly. The specific bathing time should be determined based on the cleanliness of the Chow Chow’s body.
First, prepare the bathing tools: shampoo, comb, towel, hairdryer, conditioner, etc.
Second, prepare the water at a temperature suitable for the Chow Chow before bathing. Avoid splashing shampoo or water into the dog’s eyes, ears, or mouth to prevent the Chow Chow from resisting and interrupting the bathing process.
Finally, after bathing, first use a towel to wipe the Chow Chow’s entire body, then use a hairdryer to dry the wet fur to prevent the Chow Chow from catching a cold.
Now that you have mastered the above methods and precautions, quickly let your Chow Chow baby look beautiful.
