4. Multiply the result from step 3 by 125 (=1720). So, a Samoyed needs 1720 calories per day. (For some overweight or less active dogs, change the multiplier from 125 to 100). After getting the correct calorie amount, you need to calculate how many calories are in one cup of your dog’s food.
