Differences in Personality

Golden Retrievers are like a young gentleman in our eyes. Their personalities are more complicated and somewhat lazy in daily life. They often get tired after playing for a while. Labradors are very open and lively, as if they have endless energy. They are like crazy kids, very innocent and clingy, often not even realizing when they are exhausted.

Differences in Coat

Golden Retrievers have relatively longer fur that trembles like waves, with a shiny golden coat. Labradors’ fur is shorter, usually light yellow or white, which is very appealing.

Differences in Training Difficulty

Dogs are not naturally obedient. It only means that their intelligence is higher than other dogs, but training varies in difficulty. Golden Retrievers have a quirky personality, which can cause some difficulty in initial training as they can be quite rebellious. Labradors are very obedient and are often used as police dogs, making them easier to train for beginners.

Differences in Appearance

Golden Retrievers’ faces are relatively longer than Labradors’. Their ears are longer, and their gait is more elegant; Labradors’ ears lie flat against their heads and are positioned further back, and they always walk with a swagger.

Differences in Feeding

When Golden Retrievers are young, try not to let them go upstairs by themselves. If there are relatively high steps, be sure to carry them. After they turn one year old, the amount of running should be reduced and gradually increased incrementally. Labradors have a normal physique and generally eat dog food, but if they eat too much meat, they are prone to obesity, so try to give them water from time to time.
