【Beauty Guide】Method for Plucking Ear Hair for Dogs
Do not hesitate when plucking ear hair
If we often see dogs occasionally scratching their ears with their paws, it is mostly because the ears have not been cleaned for a long time, causing the ear canal to be somewhat dirty, which makes the dog’s ear canal itchy. To relieve discomfort, dogs will scratch their own ears. A small amount of ear hair helps prevent foreign objects from entering the dog’s ear, but overly long ear hair is more likely to lead to bacterial growth, especially for dogs like Cockers with long ears that cover the ear canal, making it easier for bacteria to breed.
1. Suitable pets: Small dogs (generally medium and large dogs rarely have the problem of overly long ear hair)

3. Operation steps
1. First, open the ear hair powder, spray a little on your palm to see how much sprays out, then spray it into the dog’s ear canal. Don’t use too much, but not too little either. Then gently rub the base of the dog’s ear.
2. Start plucking the ear hair. For hair growing deeper inside, use hemostatic forceps to pluck. Be careful not to clamp too close to the root, as some owners may be doing it for the first time. Clamping too close to the root may pinch the flesh on the dog’s ear, causing pain and making the dog resist plucking.
3. For ear hair on the outside or the auricle, you can pluck it directly with your hand or still use hemostatic forceps, but it is more convenient by hand.
4. If the ear hair has been too long for a while, the ear canal is generally quite dirty. So after plucking ear hair, it’s best to clean the ear.
Try to clean out the inside of the ear thoroughly when cleaning the ear
5. First, drop ear cleaning liquid into the dog’s ear canal. You can rub the base of the dog’s ear similarly, or let the dog shake its head so that most of the ear canal area contacts the ear cleaning liquid.
6. Then use hemostatic forceps to clamp a piece of cotton, roll it tightly. Insert it deep into the ear canal to clean, see if there is yellow or reddish-brown dirt. If there is, roll the cotton several more times to wipe clean until no dirt is visible.
7. Do the same for the other ear as previously described.
4. Tips
1. Because ear hair powder has a certain anesthetic effect, do not be hesitant when plucking the ear hair, pull it out firmly. The dog may cry out, but don’t worry too much; what needs to be plucked still must be plucked.
2. When cleaning the ear, you can also try to insert the hemostatic forceps a little deeper. Some owners fear touching the dog’s eardrum, so they don’t insert it too far. But due to the structure of the dog’s ear canal, this is not a concern.
