Cats can be said to be natural gourmets, loving to eat delicious and tasty food, but this does not mean that cats are naturally picky eaters. First, we need to analyze the reasons why cats are picky eaters. First, it could be that the utensils we prepare for cats are not very suitable for them. If the bowl we prepare for cats to hold their food is too small or too light, it will affect the cat’s eating because it makes eating difficult for the cat. Second, it’s related to the cat’s emotions. If you have other pets besides the cat, the cat may be scared by these pets and refuse to eat. Third, whether the food we prepare for the cat is fresh. If it is overnight food or food left out for a long time in hot weather, this will reduce the cat’s appetite. Fourth, a sudden change in the cat’s food flavor. If we change the food brand the cat usually eats, the cat cannot adapt so quickly.

To solve cat picky eating, besides cat food, we can change its flavor weekly with meat foods like sausages, but the amount fed should not be too much. Also, do not feed cats with many kinds of cat food; feeding one or two kinds of cat food makes cats less likely to be picky. Feed cats a fixed amount daily, not too much or too little, and increase the amount as the cat ages. We should also fix the place where cats eat and not change it casually. Do not scare cats while they are eating.

We should also avoid creating unnecessary feeding habits in cats. Do not try to accommodate the cat when it doesn’t want to eat and force it to eat, as this easily forms habits. In short, do not deliberately think of ways to give benefits to cats when they don’t eat; do not let cats develop the habit that eating comes with better food.
