What Are the Benefits of Neutering Cats
Canadian Sphynx Cat
What are the benefits?
1. It can reduce the occurrence of diseases.
Due to different physiological structures, cats may develop many diseases because of heat cycles and reproduction.
For male cats, it can prevent issues such as testicular tumors and prostate enlargement caused by heat cycles. Additionally, male cats that frequently go into heat are most prone to urinary tract blockages caused by secretions; neutering surgery can fundamentally solve this problem.
For female cats, excessive heat cycles can cause ovarian cysts. Cats that have given birth are more likely to have pyometra, mammary tumors, ovarian tumors, uterine fibroids, and other problems. Neutering surgery can fundamentally reduce health risks for cats and is beneficial to their health.
2. Neutered cats will not contract diseases transmitted through sexual activity, such as Feline AIDS (an immune system disease in cats).
3. It helps cats break free from the stress, irritability, and decreased appetite caused by heat cycles, allowing them to regain their lively nature. Moreover, for male cats, it stops the habit of spraying urine to vent.
4. Prevents indiscriminate breeding and controls the population of stray cats.
5. Improves environmental quality (an important part of environmental protection!)
