Some Basic Education About Cats
Because cats are different from dogs and do not follow human habits, some people think it is impossible to train cats. Actually, this is not true. Indeed, cats cannot learn to shake hands or sit still like dogs, but they can realize that they live together with their owners and maintain a good relationship with them. Even cats feel comfortable this way.
The first step in training a cat is to make it respond to its own name immediately. The most effective method is to call the cat’s name before feeding. Once it understands that hearing its name means food, it will naturally remember the pronunciation of its name.
Often holding it and playing with it is very important. Cats are naturally cautious animals and usually ignore strangers and sometimes run away. Some people may think it is enough if the cat and owner have a close relationship, but having the people around accept and love your favorite cat is ultimately a joyful thing. Cats have a variety of personalities, so cats that are often held and played with from a young age will like being close to people. However, don’t let the cat feel annoyed by always being held and don’t force it.
Sometimes play with the cat by throwing balls or teasing it while stroking it to have skin contact. If the owner lives alone or has few family members, it is also good to often invite friends who like cats to the house so the cat interacts with others more.
