There are many mammals in the world, and to reproduce offspring, they all have a certain period of heat cycles. For example, our pet cats, pet dogs, even tigers and horses have heat periods. Generally, we care more about the heat cycles of pet cats and dogs because these are the pets we usually keep. Pet cats show relatively intense behavior in daily life, and we can often tell with the naked eye that the cat might be in heat. So which aspects should we observe? Let’s learn about it together.

Signs of Cats in Heat

Some cat owners may be puzzled why their cat suddenly starts calling out loudly and constantly; this may be because the cat is in heat, and its calls will be louder during our nighttime rest. Cats are divided into males and females, and the heat cycles differ between each gender. Female cats generally go into heat after August, once every two weeks, lasting about a week. The cat’s heat cycle is also somewhat related to the temperature at the time. Other animals usually have their heat cycles between February and October.

Signs of Cats in Heat

When cats are in heat, their postures are quite seductive; they lie on the ground with their hips raised, kicking their legs wildly on the ground, sometimes rolling around continuously. During heat, cats become especially clingy, following their owners to sleep, and even will peek over when the owner is showering, showing signs of anxiety. The appetite of cats in heat is also affected. Owners must not ignore this and should feed the cat some other foods to ensure proper nutrition. If the cat really cannot eat, consult a doctor on how to handle it.

Signs of Cats in Heat

The heat period of male cats is not as severe. Male cats are the passive side in a cat group, and their heat cycle is generally influenced by the female cats in heat. Male cats in heat may occasionally urinate randomly inside the house; this behavior also clearly indicates that the cat is in heat. Generally, trained cats will not urinate randomly. When in heat, cats will raise their tails, show more aggression toward other cats, and boldly expose their reproductive organs.
