Teach You How to Train Your Pet Cat to Jump Through a Hoop
Tabby Cat
The hoop used to train the cat to jump can be an embroidery bamboo hoop or a roughly 30-centimeter diameter iron ring made by twisting thick wire.
During training, first place the hoop flat on the ground, positioned between the person and the cat, and repeatedly give the cat the command "jump. "
If the cat walks through the hoop, immediately reward it with food; if it walks around the edge, softly scold it. After repeated training, the cat will walk through the hoop upon hearing the "jump" command.
Next, gradually raise the hoop off the ground, forcing the cat to jump through it. Each time the cat jumps through, give a reward.
In the beginning, don’t raise the hoop too high at once. Sometimes the cat may hesitate to jump after raising the hoop; the owner can place food inside the iron ring to lure the cat and continuously give the "jump" command. Once the cat jumps through once, it becomes much easier thereafter.
After a period of training, gradually reduce the food rewards. When the cat can jump through the hoop 30-60 centimeters off the ground upon hearing the "jump" command without any food reward, the training is considered successful.
