Methods to Handle Cats That Like to Fight

Exotic Shorthair Cat

are more enjoyable than TV programs and also wonderful foot warmers on cold winter nights. Cats are easy for busy people to raise because they do not get unbearably bored when alone. Unlike that need walking or attention, cats are best suited for elderly or mobility-impaired people.

Those living in apartment units must confine their cats’ activity to indoors. Cats cannot be allowed outdoors in busy traffic areas that endanger their safety or in regions with special environmental protection requirements.

If trained from a young age, cats will happily live indoors for life. As long as you prepare well, keeping cats permanently indoors is neither cruel nor will it make your home dirty.

To keep cats warm and comfortable at night, prepare a cozy bed. Various elastic beds are sold on the market, but you can also make your own using a cardboard box with cushions or blankets inside. Like people, cats prefer clean beds, so they should be cleaned and aired regularly. The cat bed should be placed in a quiet indoor corner with a bowl of fresh water and some food nearby for nighttime drinking.

Of course, indoor cats must have a litter box. The litter box should have a cover and be sprayed with air fresheners. If cleaned daily, odors will not be severe. When changing the litter, never use detergent or household cleaners, as their smell discourages cats from using the litter box and residue can cause skin itching. The best method is to rinse with tap water and dry in sunlight. The litter box location should be distanced from where the cat sleeps and eats.

Indoor cats need a scratching post. Cats’ claws constantly grow and must be worn down on hard objects to protect furniture from damage. Train cats to use the scratching post from the beginning.

Although cats spend three-quarters of their day sleeping, they need physical and mental activity during the six waking hours. All indoor cats should be given toys and games. Larger stores sell multi-purpose toys equipped with racks for various cat motions, hanging colorful balls, and scratching boards. Alternatively, you can design a playground in the hallway for your cat to play and scratch, hanging colorful balls and shiny objects, and placing toys the cat loves.

The last and most important point is that indoor need care and companionship. If you spend long hours at the office, consider raising two cats. Keeping two cats requires little more effort than one, and they keep each other company when you are away. (Source:PetsZone)
