Raising cats as pets, besides companionship, we also hope to teach cats some skills to increase the fun of life. So, what should we pay attention to in the cat training process to make the training scientific and easier for the cat to accept?

1. Training should begin at 2-3 months old, as cats are more receptive to training at this age and it lays a foundation for future improvement.

2. Master the timing of training. The best time to train cats is before feeding because hungry cats are willing to be close to people and are more obedient. Food is tempting for cats, making training easier.

3. Organically combine various stimuli. Various stimuli and methods should be combined organically; neither rigid nor completely free. A balance of firmness and gentleness should be maintained. However, when training a specific action, do not use too many methods to avoid confusing the cat.

4. Attitude should be kind and patient. Cats have a stubborn personality and strong self-esteem, and they dislike being controlled. Therefore, the attitude should be gentle, like playing with the cat. Even if mistakes are made, do not scold or punish excessively, or the cat will develop an aversive reflex to training, affecting the entire training process.

5. Progress step-by-step; do not rush. Only one action should be taught at a time, and several trainings should not be conducted simultaneously. Cats find it difficult to learn many actions at once. If they consistently fail, they will lose confidence and develop frustration, making future training harder. Each training session should not be too long, not exceeding 10 minutes, but multiple sessions can be done daily.

6. The training environment should be quiet; multiple people training at the same time should be avoided to prevent distracting the cat. Movements should not be too sudden nor produce loud noises, as cats are very sensitive to loud sounds or sudden movements, which may scare them away or make them hide, unwilling to accept training.
