How to Train a Norwegian Forest Cat to Roll Over
Norwegian Forest Cat
We often see some cats perform tricks where the owner only needs to say the command "roll," and the cat will roll on the ground. In fact, every house cat can be trained, and the method is quite simple.
During training, the owner first calls out "roll." At first, the cat definitely won’t respond. At this time, you can gently press the cat’s back with your hand, pushing it down to make it roll over. The cat might resist; do not rush but be patient and try several times. When the cat obeys, reward it with food and gently stroke its back as praise. After multiple training sessions, the cat will roll on the ground whenever it hears the "roll" command.
In the early stage of training, give a little of the cat’s favorite food after each roll. Then gradually reduce the rewards, requiring the cat to roll more times before giving treats, until you completely stop the food rewards. Usually, after about a week of training, the cat will understand the "roll" command, and then you can show off your cat to your friends and family!
