How to Prevent Cats from Destroying Everything in the House
Russian Blue Cat
Cats can easily become the wreckers of the house. Whether it is household appliances or furniture, willful cats will give them a good scratch. Don’t underestimate a cat’s strength; this scratch can very likely damage the furniture and leave indelible marks. To avoid such situations, owners can train their cats to make small changes so that they do not destroy everything in the house.
1. Train the cat to get familiar with the vacuum cleaner
Most cats see the vacuum cleaner as an opponent and are very surprised by the noise emitted by this electric monster. Most cats especially dislike this upright object because it seems more threatening and vibrates like a mixer. Although cats do not like vacuum cleaners, they can learn to coexist with them.
Equipment: vacuum cleaner, small cat enclosure.
Purpose: To train the cat not to fear the vacuum cleaner.
Steps: 1. If you have a suitable fence, put the cat inside and operate the vacuum cleaner around the cat. 2. Repeat the above steps 3 to 4 times until the cat appears quite relaxed. 3. If there is no small fence, keep the cat in the room while using the vacuum cleaner. If it appears overly distressed, take it outside. After 3 to 4 short exposures to the sound and vibration, the cat will gradually calm down.
