Developing and cultivating pet cats' social abilities

In order for both people and to live comfortably, it is necessary for cats to follow the rules of each household. For this, it is important to properly teach cats and provide the minimum required education.

If you master the following four principles, the work of training cats will surely proceed smoothly.

The first principle is to immediately reprimand on the spot. When a cat does something it shouldn’t, you should immediately say "No" or "Hey" loudly to scold it.

Of course, cats don’t stop their actions because they understand the owner's words; they stop because the loud sound frightens them. If repeated often, cats will gradually feel that this kind of behavior causes loud scolding, which is too troublesome, so they will stop doing it.

After a cat does something wrong, taking it back to the “crime scene” for a lesson is completely useless. Cats are forgetful animals and even if scolded for what just happened, they won’t understand why they were scolded. It is also very important to give plenty of praise when cats behave well.

The second principle is to educate patiently. It doesn’t mean that criticizing today but allowing it tomorrow is okay. You should criticize with the same attitude at all times patiently. If the person gives up halfway, all previous efforts are wasted, and the cat will become presumptuous.

The third principle is to absolutely avoid corporal punishment. Randomly hitting a cat causes it to fear its owner, which can lead to a submissive personality. Because a cat's body is much smaller than a human’s, it is highly likely to get injured when hit.

The fourth principle is to lavishly praise the cat when it behaves well. Although cats cannot understand the owner’s words, they clearly distinguish between scolding and praising voices. When cats are praised, their mood improves, and consequently, the effectiveness of the training gradually increases.

Of course, in such cases, it is important to praise on the spot rather than afterward. (Source:PetsZone)
