Choosing a Trustworthy Hospital for Pets

With the current increase in people's awareness and experience in pet care, when their own pets get sick, owners no longer hastily treat them with human medicines as before. How to find a trustworthy animal hospital is a concern for every responsible pet owner.
Many people think that animal hospitals are only needed when pets are sick and seem irrelevant when pets are healthy. In fact, pets should receive regular health check-ups to understand their usual condition, so owners can be at ease when something happens.
1: Exchange opinions with pet owners. To find a good hospital, you can visit nearby parks and share experiences with pet owners you meet during walks.
2: Conduct on-site inspections. Walk around the hospital to see the hygiene conditions of each consultation room and whether they are clean and tidy. Check if the areas for various tests are clearly designated, such as for lab tests, X-rays, and ultrasounds. Also, confirm if the surgery room is separate from the outpatient room.
3: Qualifications of the hospital and veterinarians. The hospital should have an "Animal Treatment License" and "Animal Epidemic Prevention Qualification" issued by the administrative department of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. Only hospitals can perform thoracotomy or laparotomy surgeries. Veterinarians must graduate from veterinary science, have a certain period of professional experience, and hold a "Beijing Veterinary Treatment Qualification Certificate". Only veterinarians with intermediate qualifications can prescribe medication. Nurses must hold a "Beijing Veterinary Treatment Assistant Qualification Certificate."
4: Treatment costs. The price bureau has issued clear pricing for diagnosis and treatment at pet hospitals, but prices vary among hospitals due to differences in equipment and scale. Surgery fees vary depending on the size of the dog. If you suspect overcharging for pet medicines, you can report the situation to the local animal quarantine supervision station.(Source:PetsZone)
