Four Major Reasons That Easily Cause Cats to Get Heatstroke

1. Owners take cats out, leaving them in closed cars while running errands. The lack of air circulation makes the car stuffy and hot, leading to cats getting heatstroke. There have also been cases where owners locked cats in the trunk during long trips, resulting in the cats suffering heatstroke.
2. Cats confined to balconies. Many irresponsible owners lock cats on balconies because they fear the cats will dirty the house, causing frequent cases of cats getting heatstroke in summer. Here, we ask all cat owners, if you truly love your cat, please do not do such irresponsible things. Cats are very clean animals; do not use the excuse of fearing a cat will dirty your home or damage furniture to keep cats on balconies, in bathrooms, or in cages.
3. High indoor temperatures. Summers can be extremely hot in some cities. When owners leave for work, it’s impossible to keep the air conditioning on for the cats. If the indoor air is not circulating and it is stuffy, cats can easily suffer from heatstroke.
4. On the scorching road. Cats get heatstroke very quickly. In the hot summer, on burning asphalt roads, about 5 minutes can cause heatstroke in cats. However, cats usually find places to avoid the heat; cats that suffer heatstroke on roads are often sick or injured cats. (Source:PetsZone)
