Whether staple food or snacks, it is not suitable to feed in excessive amounts

Whether it is a dog’s staple food or snacks, intake must be controlled within a reasonable amount. Excessive consumption puts a great burden on the dog’s intestines. Even supplements, when eaten excessively, can have the opposite effect. The so-called rich disease we refer to is also caused by overfeeding.

1. Snack Canned Food: The frequency of using snacks and canned food should not be too high. Compared to dog food, canned food flavors are more favored by dogs. Long-term consumption is not only unfavorable to the dog’s health but can also lead to picky eating habits and is more likely to cause tartar problems.

2. Animal Liver: Animal liver indeed contains rich nutrients but is not suitable for long-term feeding to dogs. Prolonged eating of liver can hinder the dog’s calcium absorption and potentially cause calcium deficiency.

3. Supplements: Supplements mainly serve to strengthen the dog’s body and prevent certain diseases. After a period of consumption, they can be stopped—they do not need to be fed continuously. For example, dogs in rapid growth stages need to supplement calcium appropriately to prevent deficiency. However, calcium supplementation is only needed during that specific period. Constant calcium supplementation increases the risk of urinary stones and also causes premature calcification of cartilage. The bones become brittle instead of stronger, making fractures more likely.

Regardless of the food, it should be reasonably allocated. The principle of “too much of anything is harmful” is one that we all need to understand.
