Which Dogs Are Not Suitable for Wearing Clothes
Dogs Wearing Clothes

Dogs themselves are already adorable animals, and putting clothes on them makes them even cuter, melting every dog owner’s heart. But is it really good to make dogs wear clothes just to satisfy our preferences? Because some dogs are not suitable for wearing clothes; at best, they will feel uncomfortable, and at worst, they might get sick. So let’s take a look at which dogs are not suitable for wearing clothes.
  1. Breed
Long-haired dogs. Dogs aren’t really afraid of the cold, especially shepherd dogs, sled dogs, etc. Commonly seen ones like Huskies and Samoyeds originally live in cold regions. Their fur is long and thick, and in winter they grow undercoat to resist the cold. Therefore, there is absolutely no need to dress them. Wearing clothes can cause their long fur to tangle and makes it easier to get skin diseases. Their natural temperature regulation mechanism will also be lost.
Strong short-haired dogs. Many short-haired dogs wear clothes. But for dogs like bulldogs and short-haired dachshunds, it is unnecessary. They tend to gain weight and have thick fat that can keep them warm, so clothes become a burden. Large dogs like Labradors and Great Danes are healthy and strong; wearing clothes could reduce their natural resistance, so do not dress them.
  2. Temperament
Dogs with bad temper. Some dogs strongly resist wearing clothes, hiding whenever clothes are mentioned. After putting clothes on, they get very grumpy, continually trying to remove or bite the clothes. For the sake of their mood, don’t force such dogs to wear clothes.
Dogs stiff after wearing clothes. These dogs do not adapt well to wearing clothes and become physically stiff or unable to move. The first problem may be ill-fitting clothes; put on clothes in the right size. If the problem persists, unless the dog can adapt gradually, don’t dress them.
 3. Illness
If the dog has a skin disease, they should definitely not wear clothes. It only worsens their condition and they cannot scratch the itch, which makes them more miserable.
