What Does Dog Grooming Mainly 'Beautify'?
Nowadays, pet dog grooming is no longer just a simple bath, but has gradually developed into a fashion trend and a professional skill. Different dog breeds require different grooming techniques and tools, but the basic care steps are as follows:
1. Brushing
Before bathing, use a comb to remove dead hair and mats from the dog’s body, promote blood circulation, and make the dog’s coat soft, neat, and shiny.
2. Plucking Ear Hair
Common breeds that require ear hair plucking include Pekingese, Shih Tzu, and Schnauzer. Cleaning the ears about once a month can effectively prevent ear mites and ear canal inflammation.
3. Trimming Nails
Overgrown nails can cause skeletal deformities affecting the dog’s walking, and long nails can pierce paw pads, causing pain. Therefore, nails should be trimmed every two weeks on average, cut along the blood line and rounded smoothly to effectively prevent scratching the owner.
4. Bathing
Cleaning the anal glands before bathing can prevent anal inflammation and reduce odor; water temperature should be between 35℃~45℃, using pet-specific shampoo; generally, long-haired dogs bathe once a week, short-haired dogs every 2-3 weeks.
5. Drying and Blow-Drying
After wiping off the water with a highly absorbent towel, use a hair dryer to dry completely. While blow-drying, you can also tidy the hair to make it fluffy and natural.
6. Trimming Hair
Trim stray hairs around the eyes that affect vision, overly long hairs on the foot pads, long abdominal hair, and hair around the buttocks.
7. Styling
You can create a beautiful style according to your preference or to enhance the dog’s appearance.
