What Are the Types of Dog Snacks

There are many types of snacks, you can choose according to your needs
There are quite many types and ingredients of dog snacks. According to different effects and categories, they can be divided into various kinds. Different snacks have their own advantages and disadvantages, so owners can select suitable snacks for their dogs based on their temporary needs when purchasing.
1. Dried Meat Snacks
Features: A wide variety and diverse forms, almost the most favorite snacks for dogs. Mainly chicken jerky, because chicken rarely causes allergic reactions in dogs, relatively safe. Next are mostly beef, then duck, and rarely pork or lamb. Jerky is usually dried, with varying moisture content, and comes in many types. Dried jerky with low moisture content lasts longer, is harder, suitable for young, strong dogs with good teeth; jerky with high moisture content is softer and smells good but spoils easily, so do not buy too much at once to avoid waste. Also, try to choose branded or previously tried jerky to avoid hygiene issues causing illness in dogs.
2. Meat Mixed Snacks
Features: Made by mixing meat with other ingredients. Some have jerky rolled in flour-made biscuits or cheese sticks, some resemble sandwiches. Regardless of the form, you can see that meat is combined with other ingredients. This type of snack uses the aroma of jerky to entice dogs to eat other things, such as carbohydrates, proteins, or dairy products. Usually, these snacks are made with jerky that has higher moisture content and combined with others. To achieve longer shelf life, they are almost always individually packaged, so prices tend to be higher. But the advantage is these tasty foods often come in cute small packages with many choices and more variety.

Dairy Snacks
3. Dairy Snacks
Features: A favorite snack for dogs that like the taste of milk. Cheese snacks also help regulate dogs’ digestive systems. Although not all dogs like them, there are many kinds such as milk tablets and cheese sticks. If your dog’s stomach is sensitive to milk, it’s best not to try to avoid diarrhea trouble. It is best to try a little before buying; avoid overly sweet products.
4. Chewing Treats
Features: Usually made from pork or cowhide, specially for dogs to grind their teeth and spend time. Try not to choose treats that are too small to prevent dogs from swallowing them all at once.

Avoid feeding too many intestine snacks
5. Starch Snacks
Features: These are dog snacks that look like human biscuits but with very light sweetness. Compared to meat snacks, they are easier for dogs to digest. Meat jerky dog snacks can cause indigestion or diarrhea if eaten too much or not chewed well. Starch snacks do not have these issues. Some deodorizing biscuits allegedly reduce fecal odor in dogs, but the effect is not ideal. Choose your dog’s favorite flavor for this snack.
6. Intestine Snacks
Features: Relatively cheap and usually liked by dogs, but it is not recommended to feed too much as it can cause bad breath and has little nutritional value.
7. Animal Bones
Features: Usually large bones from sheep, cattle, or pigs, generally used for dogs to grind their teeth and chew on. It is a good choice.
