Three Matters to Pay Attention to When Raising a Samoyed Puppy at Home
Samoyed

Nowadays many people like raising Samoyed dogs (detailed introduction), not only beautiful in appearance but also with a good temperament~ commonly called the "smiling angel," especially the puppies are the cutest, plump and fluffy, you can't bear to let go when holding them! So if you want to raise a little Samoyed, what issues should we pay attention to?

  1) Deworming is generally done at 20-25 days old, then regularly once a month afterwards. The dog's feces and worms after deworming should be collected for fermentation treatment. The water bowl should be cleaned once a day. Salt and water bowls should be disinfected once a week by boiling for 20 minutes, soaking in 0.1% New Clean Germicide liquid for 20 minutes, or soaking in 2%-4% caustic soda solution, then rinsed thoroughly with clean water.

  2) The energy required during the growth period of a little Samoyed is twice that of an adult Samoyed. It is said that Samoyeds live about 12-16 years, which is much shorter compared to humans. The development speed of Samoyed puppies is also very fast. They can grow into adults within 1 to 1.5 years after birth. This growth period is very important and can even influence the whole life of the little Samoyed. To help Samoyed puppies grow healthily and robustly, special attention should be paid to their diet during the development process.

  3) Two maintenance, three transitions.

Two maintenance means maintaining the original kennel for raising and maintaining the original feed; three transitions refer to the transitions of feed, feeding system, and environment. Feed transition: about one week after weaning, the feed formula is still the same as during the lactation supplement; later gradually transition, and by about two weeks after weaning, you can switch to puppy feed. Feeding system transition: a stable living routine can promote the puppy’s growth and reduce disease occurrence. Puppy feed should be nutritious, given in fixed time and quantity, fed in small frequent meals to maintain strong appetite and digestive ability. Environment transition: use reasoned raising method after weaning, i.e., no removal from original pen, no mixing into groups or litters, but removing the mother dog.

Warm reminder: Under normal circumstances, the dog's nose tip is moist and cool without mucus or thick secretions.
